Before spiraling into your workflow, it’s important to take a few moments to yourself. Whether you listen to a five-minute meditation, a podcast, or stretch for a few minutes when you get out of bed, putting yourself first, even for a short amount of time, can make a huge difference in your productivity and daily life in general. This is what we call “Rooted Rituals.”

Rooted Rituals are dedicated actions to ground you into presence, focus, and center.

These should used before jumping into your to-do list or to break up your day when you can’t seem to pull yourself away from your laptop or phone.

After completing a Rooted Rituals of your choice on a daily basis, you most likely will find that you feel more centered, focused, inspired, and energized throughout your days. The best part about Rooted Rituals is that they don’t have to be intricate or complicated.

Rooted Rituals are meant to fit into your daily schedule in any way that best works for you on any given day. They’re fluid, which means you can work with the same rituals every day or you can switch it up and try a new one each day.

It’s up to you and what makes you feel centered. The goal is to guarantee that you’re setting aside at least five minutes every single day to connect with yourself, clear your mind, center your focus, and create balance before you dive into producing work for the rest of the world.

You can complete them in just a few short minutes. If you’re not sure where to start, check out a few of our rooted ritual suggestions below.

5. Create a list of affirmations and say them to yourself each morning.

RITUALS TO TRY FOR CONNECTION & COMMUNICATION

2. Listen to a five-minute meditation podcast (link to meditation).
3. Enjoy your morning cup of tea or coffee with no distractions – put your phone down!
4. Perform your favorite self-care ritual, even if that’s as simple as rinsing your face with cold water.
5. Write a letter to you, from your future self.
